Alera Group Enhances Its Employee Benefits Offerings with Shea Insurance

Alera Group, a top independent national insurance and wealth services firm, today announced the acquisition of Shea Insurance, an insurance agency specializing in employee benefits solutions.

“Shea Insurance takes the hassle out of employee benefits. Our clients take pride in knowing that they are offering the best benefits package to recruit and retain top talent through a full market analysis,” said Scott Villamor, President of Shea Insurance. “We partner with our clients and vendors to make employee benefits simple once again.”

Located in Henderson, Nevada, Shea Insurance was founded in 2017. The brokerage specialized in employee benefits packages offering group health insurance, self-funded health plans, ACA compliance, human resources services and benefits administration.

“We are thrilled to have Scott and the team join us,” said Alan Levitz, CEO of Alera Group. “Shea Insurance acts as a partner to their clients by learning to understand and help drive their business goals. This client-first focus enables the firm to design benefits packages that maximize talent attraction and retention and makes the agency a great addition to Alera Group.”

Shea Insurance is an affiliate of Distinctive Insurance, an Alera Group company. The team will continue serving clients in their existing roles. Terms of the transaction were not announced.
